Eating out in Cotswold restaurants and pubs is very popular,so we advise to book ahead. There are many other excellent Cotswolds pub-restaurants locally and a little further afield which we can advise on , including other nationality menus.
THE BELL at Sapperton- furthest away at 5 miles from the holiday cottages. Fabulous food from a Cotwolds restaurant/pub-ideal for a special occasion or romantic Cotswolds break.(probably my first choice). Lovely Cotswolds lavender garden in summer, often horses tethered up outside, very friendly hosts. www.foodatthebell.co.uk Book well in advance. Dining on seared pigeon for starters- heaven!!
THE Old FLEECE at Woodchester, just under 2 miles. ‘young at heart and buzzing people’. I recommend for supper on arrival, gets you in the mood for your visit to the Cotswolds. I love the fresh scallops -great for a Cotswolds welcome with a lovely log fire. Large glasses for wine too!

The BRITANNIA at the far end of Nailsworth, good for sitting out side and watching passers by in the calm. Food is good with burger salads being homemade I think. Good place for hungry kids or teenagers to eat! Log fire and big sofas if you get there early.
The BEAR of Rodborough, on the 600 acres Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons is this Cotswolds hotel. Open fires and exposed Cotswolds stone walls. Restaurant and bar meals. Croquet on the lawn in summer. Very cosy inside but shame that service is a little slow in bar area.
The Wild Garlic in the happening and arty Cotswolds village of Nailsworth, opposite the Britannia, is well worth a visit. Must check out new chef and cuisine.
THE WEIGHBRIDGE,only about 3miles from here between Nailsworth and Avening. Known
for its 2 in 1 pies and you chose the combination ’made for you’.
The LODGE just up the hill from here, on the common. I like the Lodge very much as I think they have a good balance between fine dining and a more casual supper out. The menu is varied. The decor is contemporary country with a theatrical twist-popular for wedding receptions , lovely “Kelly Hoppen style bedrooms, slightly retro. Log fires, sofas.
Large garden . Next door to Minchinhampton Old golf course.

THE OLIVE TREE, Though manly pizza pasta type menu,we sat outside and it was lovely.
Husband and wife team I would definitely go back for a casual lunch or breakfast.
good things in small packages..a salad is with variety of green leaves...not just
“lettuce cu and bit of tom”
The RAGGED COT . Recently refurbished and looks great. Has extensive garden too.. Some good wines ,large wine glasses too. Restaurant is good but has changed chefs a few times recently so not sure of current quality.
CALCOT MANOR 5 miles ish (and the Gumstool) a hotel spa. Dine in the conservatory. Excellent ‘Cotswolds’ fine dining and worth dressing up for the occasion. Gum- stool in good food guide too- less dressy. www.calcotmanor.co.uk
A corner of Cotswolds England!
THE PASSAGE TO INDIA in Nailsworth. We have had many a good Indian meal here. They also do take-aways. I believe Ainsley Harriet has enjoyed a meal or two here.
Some of the Cotswolds finest dining in pub restaurants to suit most tastes. A haven for Cotswolds dining out with hotel dining too. There are many more Cotswold places to eat out in local villages as well as Cirencester, Cheltenham and in the middle of nowhere with views and even croquet etc in the heart of Gloucestershire , England, UK. You will love it !!!
The BLACK HORSE at Littleworth, Amberley. Really good Cotswold views. Good real ale and cider including local Cotswold brews. Plenty of outside sitting. I cannot advise eating here ,sadly the new chef is not up to the mark and we have given it several tries- but a lunchtime drink can be great.

The HALF WAY, You can’t miss Nial who greets guests in his chefs attire and always has time for you. It feels a bit like a ski lodge inside and was great when snowed, parking tobaggans outside and bangers ( Glocester old spots) and mash for all. Very friendly. Lovely loos! There is a serious menu too .
We consider this one of 3 locals.
The BURLEIGH COURT HOTEL, just a short walk away .Silver service restaurant and you dress for dinner but in quiet setting with nice views down the Golden Valley. A little too quiet for me!
THE REAL ALE TRAIL is in info folder in cottages but we have regular beer and cider and food festivals too.

The CROWN at Frampton Mansell Very friendly and run by a young couple who are very enthusiastic and willing to take on ideas. They love church candles and so no problems if there is a power cut . 3 log fires in cold weather too.
